How can Amsoil synthetic motor
oils be used safely for 3 to 8 times longer than other oils?
First consider, why we are encouraged to change our oil
" every 3000 to 4500miles?"
-
Motor oil becomes contaminated with by-products of combustion
such as soot, wear metals and possible moisture and other liquids such
as fuel, coolant etc.
-
Motor oils change in viscosity usually causing thickening and
loss of volume.
-
The acids caused by combustion by-products are harmful to engine
surfaces.
Now, how then, can Amsoil deal with these three problems?

The graphic on the left shows the Thermal Stability of Amsoil.
This wide range of temperature keeps Amsoil lubricants from "self
polluting" or chemically changing.
The graphic below shows Amsoil's superior
ability to maintain its volume or resist evaporation in the present
of high temperatures. Amsoil's High Viscosity index is
a mark of quality and durability.

Second consider that there are two primary sources of contaminants
in any engine, There is internal contamination that results
from a lubricants response to high heat or extreme cold. There are
also external contaminants which are the results of dirt and other
debris being ingested into the crankcase. Amsoil is formulated to handle
both of these sources of contamination.
The third consideration is, that Amsoil motor oils are formulated
with a "fully saturated" base stock and therefore
have very high resistance to contaminants from altering there chemical
makeup . This feature makes a very easy job for the oil filter. Other
oils become so altered by contaminants that they cannot be cleaned up
by any filter.
A final consideration as to the ability of Amsoil motor oils to operate
with "extended drain intervals," is a very high total
base number (TBN). High TBN gives a lubricant a much longer
period of acid fighting capacity.
Therefore Amsoil motor oils are capable of, and are warranted for, extended
drain intervals of up to 35,000 thousand miles or one year, whichever
comes first. |
